My daughter and I just got back from Oaxaca and it was AMAZING! I was a bit sceptical as to how it was all going to go with the nannys and the excursions and well.... safety. However, the nannys were absolutely 100% amazing! I've never experienced anything like it. They engaged the kids the whole time they were there. I felt super comfortable with them watching my daughter while I read privately or hung out in the CaSa. I even went on an excursion WITHOUT her! My daughter was able to quickly become comfortable with the playroom and the nannys. So very different then just dropping her off at a resort daycare. I really felt relaxed and got so many breaks. The food was outstanding and we learned a lot about Oaxaca from Chef Sam. So so much more to say... I wish I was back there now!

I can't believe it's been a month since we were on the 1st SMC Retreat. I can't even begin to express how much it was well needed. First and foremost, Oaxaca is beautiful Secondly, Tania is incredibly down-to-earth with a wonderful sense of humor; so easy to approach and converse with! I absolutely enjoyed her grounded presence. Lastly, on to the retreat... O M G everything was planned to the T; from the accommodations to the activities. I mean we really didn't have to worry about much at all. The best part for me were the nannies (lovely ladies) and other kids readily available to play with Carmelo. I got soooooooo much rest. It was great to not really have to worry about my kid and just chill. Relaxation isn't something I'm used to. As a single mom, I'm always on the move, always having to take care of something -- you ladies know what I mean -- but this week was nice to just decompress while my son was being entertained at the same time!! I definitely took advantage of my alone time when I got it lol. Not having to cook and clean was a plus too.

YES IT WAS AMAZING!!!! There is literally no other way to travel comfortably with kids while having help and other awesome women to hang out with!! Everything was taken care of for us and everyone was soooo nice!! I felt like myself again, that woman I was before I had a kid, who lived to travel and have conversations, that aren’t interrupted a million times, who actually can speak other languages, and who doesn’t have to spend every waking moment cooking, cleaning, dressing, and packing for and playing with my child!!! I think the most amazing part of the Casa and the Retreat was feeling so supported!! The excursions were amazing, but the massages were to die for!! I absolutely loved the whole thing and I thank Tania Pan for making this happen for us!! Book your own magical experience so she can keep offering this incredible travel retreat! I took a lot of time to research and consider my choices when deciding to go to the SMC Retreats beach pop up in Huatulco. I know people who have gone to the CaSa and everyone had a great experience. I had high expectations and they were all exceeded this week! Tania and the women on the retreat, (and their kiddoes of course!) were the highlight for me. It was amazing to be with peopel who have chosen the same journey that I am on and have my child be in a space where all of the families looked like ours. The location and the many things we did were also amazing. Massages, excursions, day and night swimming in the pool, a quiet beach, the nannies and the cheff.... and of course, Tania's wonderful stories... she has had an interesting life (I think she should write a book!) This was the trip of a lifetime and my son and I made friends that I know we will see again. Thank you SoMos!

*Don’t hesitate* Do it Girl, Do It For You*** So it’s clear that as a Mum/Mom, any vacation where food is served, rooms tidied, Nannies on board, excursions & massages booked… basically me going brain dead and shuffled into awaiting transportation when needed…is a great vacation- it’s Mom vacation porn So I’m not gonna review my vacation because you already know it was a 6/5 review. No, this review is provided by my son. It’s important to have his perspective too. If he’s happy( or occupied happily) then I’m happy. ​ Review of Oaxaca Retreat By Lea's son, Parc-r, age 8 What did you enjoy about the retreat house? ‘It was big, had lots of fun stuff, the pomegranates, the mangos, the fountain in the garden’ So you liked the garden? ‘Yeah’ What did you like best about the Nannie’s? ‘They were nice, they had good ideas on crafts’ Did u have fun with the Nannies? ‘Yeah, the best fun was crafting’ How about the excursions- what was your favourite outing? ‘The petrified waterfall was the best, swimming in a mountain pool’ Did you like meeting the other kids? ‘I was happy that there were kids there to play games with. We played a lot of Hide and Seek, and Tag, and we did swimming races’ What was the of the whole trip? ‘I actually don’t know. Lots of things..the excursions, the pool, playing baseball with the Mexican family in the park, Dancing to the Mariachi band with my mom - she likes to dance’ How was the food? ‘Good! My son, Shai and I, had an excellent week with our fellow SMC families. I can't remember the last time I didn't have to prepare a meal, clean a dish or scheme plans to keep us busy for a whole week. Tania Pan had all of the details covered so we could relax and seriously enjoy a real vacation with non stop childcare to boot. I especially loved visiting the artisan workshops and eating local cuisine prepared by our chefs for breakfast and lunch. I feel like I got a true sense of the rich culture of Oaxaca. If you are a solo mom aching to get out of your bubble and explore the world with your kids in a stress free, everything is taken care of way I highly recommend jumping in!

The reality of home is back hard after spending such a wonderful week in Oaxaca! I agree with what Sige said and can add that it was so nice to spend more time relaxing and exploring on a vacation, than planning and cleaning and doing ALL the things I also have to do at home! The house was amazing and exploring around Oaxaca was interesting and fun. Thank you for organizing and to all the other madres for making it such a nice week. I would definitely do this again!
