Who are SoMos Retreats for?
Back in 2020 when I first dreamed up the idea of what is now SoMos Retreats I was doing a business course that had taught me how to start a business without any money!
One of the things my business coach taught us is that you have to envision your ‘ideal client’ in order that you can design your business to appeal to them. This does not mean the others outside of this will not resonate… it’s the fact that every artist needs a muse.
In the early stages of parenthood a version of myself became my first such muse.
Of course since then my muse has aged and become multifaceted but if any of these make sense then congrats - SoMos was made for you!
You always loved to travel but feel overwhelmed by the idea of doing it with kids
Vacations since kids have felt like simply parenting with a different view
You consider safety in a way that you never did before you were a parent.
Your bucket list is full of places you’d love to go but you don’t know where to start
You love going to fancy restaurants but your kid(s) don’t!
Evenings feel lonely when you’re on vacation and you’re the only one awake
You yearn to have a conversation without interruption
You want to enjoy a cocktail without having to say the word ‘Mommy Juice’
You’d love to find a sitter on vacation but don’t want to leave your littles with a stranger
You want to explore but know that a lot of what you find interesting your child(ren) will not.
All Inclusives are fine but you really want to get closer to the local culture
I could go on and on…
I am a confident traveler. I spent 4 years globetrotting solo in my 20’s (before cell phones!!!) My bucket list destinations are wildly different than most and yet when I had children I realized that not everyone had my confidence - and even with that I still chose to travel with a safety net (staying in a House with other SoLo WoMen when my daughter was 3 months old for example)
SoMos was dreamed up to give Parents a real break but one that wasn’t cookie cutter.
From the seasoned traveler finding their feet after parenthood to the first time leaving the country - but wanting to raise a worldly human… we’ve hosted them all!
My Ideal client no longer has children under 5 … she has children up into their teens!
I’m still learning and growing, building and dreaming.
My promise to myself is that SoMos will always be bespoke and personalized… and I’ll talk about that some more in another post…
